Howard Douglas "Doug" Edgar
Doug Edgar,
81, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Born in northern Louisiana,
Doug moved to Albuquerque more than 50 years ago and started his own construction company,
Pogo Construction, after serving as a teacher at St. Pius X High School and Lincoln Jr. High School. He designed, constructed and/or remodeled many homes from Sandia Heights to the South Valley and beyond. His preference was traditional New Mexican architecture and materials and he was well known for his ability to match 19th and early 20th century adobe construction. He also loved classical music, woodworking, hiking in the mountains and exploring the many interesting and beautiful corners of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Oakley; his children, Paul Edgar (Dana) and Mary Zubiate (Jake); his brother, Robert "Mike" Edgar (Madeline); and grand children, Grace Edgar, Christian Edgar, Isaiah Zubiate, Gabriel Zubiate and Catherine Zubiate.
There will be a Memorial Gathering for friends and family Saturday, October 13 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethany Hall of Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd NE.
