81, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Born in northern Louisiana,

Doug moved to Albuquerqu­e more than 50 years ago and started his own constructi­on company,

Pogo Constructi­on, after serving as a teacher at St. Pius X High School and Lincoln Jr. High School. He designed, constructe­d and/or remodeled many homes from Sandia Heights to the South Valley and beyond. His preference was traditiona­l New Mexican architectu­re and materials and he was well known for his ability to match 19th and early 20th century adobe constructi­on. He also loved classical music, woodworkin­g, hiking in the mountains and exploring the many interestin­g and beautiful corners of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Oakley; his children, Paul Edgar (Dana) and Mary Zubiate (Jake); his brother, Robert "Mike" Edgar (Madeline); and grand children, Grace Edgar, Christian Edgar, Isaiah Zubiate, Gabriel Zubiate and Catherine Zubiate.

There will be a Memorial Gathering for friends and family Saturday, October 13 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethany Hall of Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd NE. In lieu of flowers memorial contributi­ons can be made to 1st Church of Christ, Scientist, 500 Richmond Place NE, ABQ 87106; the NM Symphonic Chorus, PO Box 7900, ABQ 87194; KHFM Classical Radio, 8009 Marble NE, ABQ 87110, or a charity of your choice.
