SPORTS SPEAK UP! I TOO HAVE

- sportsspeakup@abqjournal.com

EVERYWHERE I GO in this town I see people wearing Lobo hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and driving cars with Lobo license plate holders, plus signs saying “We are all Lobos.” Yet less than 17,000 show up for Saturday’s game for a team fighting to be bowl eligible. What gives? Do we just like to dress the part? — Joe, ABQ

POROUS PASS

DEFENSE, drive busting penalties that shows a lack of fundamental football, no creativity on offense, NO THANKYOU! This debacle is solely on the coaches! Davie has one of the most talented teams he has in years and it’s going to waste! I feel sorry for the team! They deserve better! —hard to be a Lobo football fan these days! — Rogers MEMO TO Alex Bergman: “Pride goeth before a fall.” — Lobo Granny

NOT THAT New Mexico was going to defeat Fresno State, but the MWC was going to make sure that the Bulldogs stayed in the conversation for a big money bowl game by sending down a group of clowns disguised as officials. With the new offense, Lobo fans mistakenly thought that they were going to see some excitement (please come back, Bob DeBesse.) As always, we miss Rocky Long’s blitzing schemes which do not allow a quarterback to stand in the pocket and throw. UNM was ineffective and undisciplined. Is a repeat 3-9 season on the horizon? Unacceptable. — NM Old Timer

noticed that most fans disrespect the National Anthem. Again those who served or are in the military should stand and salute the anthem, all others can carry on with drinking beer and eating hot dogs and nachos, they did not earn the right to stand. — rc
