Gloria Caroline Nelson

Gloria Caroline [Stroh] Nelson was called home by the Lord on October 17,

2018. She had a peaceful passing with her close family by her side. Gloria was born on February 14, 1932; her parents were Joe and Caroline Stroh. She was the baby sister of Alvin and Jim. Gloria and her husband Richard were married August 9, 1957 at Grant Avenue Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado. They were blessed with a son, Robert, who has a wonderful wife Bobbi Kay and a son Mark. Gloria taught 7th grade math for 34 years, 30 of these at Belen, NM Middle School. Gloria believed in reaching out and helping people, she mothered many over the years; the members of her family, many exchange students and through her volunteer work with United South Broadway,Albuquerque Reads and programs at Central United Methodist Church. A wonderful loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be remembered by many. Gloria is survived by her husband Richard, son Rob and his wife Bobbi Kay, Grandson Mark, her brother Jim Stroh and wife Eileen. Plus her many nieces, nephews, cousins, her cherished friends and loving Church family. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of her life will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, NM at 10 AM on Saturday November 17, 2018.
