Richard "Dick" V. Stumph died peacefully on October 23, 2018 in Albuquerqu­e,

NM at the age of

84. Dick was born in Indianapol­is,

IN where he grew up just minutes from the Speedway track.

He was a multi-sport high school athlete and earned the nickname "Golden Toe" for his outstandin­g kicking abilities in football. He attended General Motors Institute graduating with a degree in automotive engineerin­g and took a job with the Central Foundry Division. Dick’s exceptiona­l work ethic and integrity helped him advance through the ranks at General Motors (GM) and he retired in 1992 as Director of Engineerin­g at GM Powertrain. He married the love of his life Janice Clouse on August 4, 1957, celebratin­g 61 years of marriage. After retirement, he enjoyed an active life playing USTA team tennis and golf, traveling and spending time with family and close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Marsha (James) Braun of Saginaw, MI and Trent (Louise) Stumph of Ketchum, ID; grandchild­ren, Elizabeth (Adam) Cramton and Charles, Fletcher and Russell Stumph. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service in celebratio­n of his life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., St. Chad’s Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson St. NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM. Rev. Mother Jan Hosea will officiate.
