William B. "Bill" Fowler, 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. His childhood friends knew him as "Billy" and his many employees over the years know him as "Mr. Bill." Bill was born on April 24, 1930 in his beloved hometown of Willard, NM. Some of his favorite years were spent working on his uncle’s ranch near Willard. A proud Navy veteran, he served in the Korean War aboard the USS Arnold J. Isbell and the USS Iowa. He met his wife, Norma, while working with her at JC Penny in Albuquerqu­e and they have been together 63 years. In 1961, Bill started his remarkable career in Mortgage Banking, first at New Mexico Savings and Loan, and then for 33 years as the owner of Suburban Mortgage. Thousands of New Mexicans own their own homes because of Bill’s hard work and dedication. An avid Lobo fan, he has had the same season tickets at the Pit since it opened in 1966. Besides Norma, Bill is survived by his daughter, Londa Fowler and her spouse, Mike Fiedler and his son, Stephen; son, Kevin and his wife Janice and their son, Will; son Alan and his wife Heather, and their daughter McKenzie and son Collin. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018, 11:30 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Western Wear is encouraged!
