Air Force to talk about water contamination
CLOVIS — The Air Force will host an information session on the groundwater contamination found at Cannon Air Force Base earlier this year on Friday in Clovis.
Two chemicals, PFOS and PFOA, were present in a firefighting foam once used by Air Force. Those chemicals were found in three private wells in the area southeast of Cannon above recommended Environmental Protection Agency limits.
Subject matter experts from the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, state environment, agriculture and health departments, and federal agencies will be on hand to answer questions.
The meeting will be 5-7 p.m. Friday in the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library, 701 N. Main St.
