Plea deal: Shooter to get 6 years in prison

LAS CRUCES — A Las Cruces man who shot another man in broad daylight in the middle of El Paseo Road last year will serve some prison time after pleading guilty to the crime.

Michael Tanner, 45, was given the maximum 10½ years in prison during a sentencing hearing in Third Judicial District Court Friday afternoon. However, Judge Douglas R. Driggers suspended all but six years.
