I SEE “My Cousin Vinny” is now introducing lame intermission contests at UNM BB games. — jpb

THE WIFI UPGRADE works better than the new PA sound system at the Pit. Sad to see all the young people looking down at their phones rather than taking in the action on the court. Still can’t understand what is being said. Will we ever have a win-win situation? — Manny G. from the Hub City

THE GENTLEMAN holding the microphone on the Pit floor making announcements and running time-out promotional activities at the women’s basketball games may as well be talking to a wall. His voice is so distorted that you cannot understand a single word he is saying. It is annoying and we, as fans, would rather hear music instead of what sounds like garbled yelling at us. —Frustrated Fan

LOUISVILLE DID the right thing. They fired Bobby Petrino and his family. The Lobos should follow. Cut our losses and family ties. We need a young fiery coach to ignite the Lobo fire. — HAGAR

I BELIEVE Coach Davie is a decent man. As such, I hope he will do the decent thing and resign, so the University does not have to choose between buying out the remainder of his contract or reluctantly keeping him on. Coach, you are much better off making more in the comfort of the broadcast booth than suffering the slings and arrows of outraged fandom (with apologies to W. Shakespeare). — Rich, Corrales

SPORTS TALKING HEADS say five teams from the ACC could compete for the NCAA basketball national title in the spring. Three from the SEC could, Tennessee, Kentucky and Auburn. Could the final four in men’s basketball this year be only ACC and SEC teams? — Larry the VOL

NICE HEADLINE re the Cowboys’ win over the Eagles: “A Season Saved?” But I still prefer the NY Times’ assessment: “Cowboys’ Big Win Makes a Statement: They’re Almost Mediocre.” — Jack Bowers, Albuquerque
