Trump tactics divert attention
A NEW level of lies and hatred has surfaced on the American society. The president’s idea that invading “hordes” of women, children and men are coming to the USA with fundamentally dogma biblical diseases — diseases that have been eradicated for centuries — and “cop killers” is hard to contemplate even by his previous outlandish remarks. Anyone with a clear mind knows that women and children walking from one to two thousand miles indicated they are in excellent physical condition. This mass of hopefuls don’t know it yet, but the most deadly manmade diseases (ignorance, bigotry, racism, poverty and greed) that affect a large percentage of American citizens… await them at the border. (They are diseases) that (have) plagued the nation for generations.
The facts are, these women and children have been played (by) a cruel joke. They are told America is the “greatest” country in the world, the place where “dreams come true.” That might be true in the past, but the Trump administration has made it a place where dreams die, not just for fleeing desperate migrants, but the entire country, as well. Indeed, great countries don’t cage nor deny medical treatments to children, nor proper nourishment and education, do not incarcerate complete generations of young men and women, much less allow gun violence to murder children in classrooms and churches. Great countries don’t discriminate against their citizens or deny them the right to vote.
Also, decades of American anti-democratic and deadly covert activities and policies in Latin America are now coming back to haunt the nation. Festering fascist countries like Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador are easy targets for U.S. covert intervention.
Donald Trump is using the same terror tactics on our border to divert attention from problems that impact the nation. FERMIN-FERMON TORRES Las Cruces
