NOT A MATHEMETICIAN,

but it seems the Lobos could easily have gone 3-9 with 55 scholarship players as opposed to 110. Just saying. — Puerto Dog

IT WASN’T THE

old standing room only days of Bob King, Don Haskins and Norm Ellenberger in this UNMUTEP rivalry game. Instead of live, local TV, the game was streamed online. A win is a win? Maybe so but NMSU defeated this UTEP team 96-69. UTEP beat Eastern New Mexico on their home court by only 7 points, 66-59. The Greyhounds then went on the road and lost to the Washburn Ichabods, 94-56. Should anyone be concerned? Yes, indeed, as the Lobos were shooting only 7 (seven) percent at one point in the first half. Save us, Carlton Bragg. — ‘72 Lobo

WHAT A BAD

scene last Saturday at Dreamstyle Stadium. Bob Davie spoke of the overall size and strength of Wyoming compared to UNM but this Wyoming team was 2-6 at one point this season with one of the wins being a 3 point victory over the Wofford Terriers in Laramie (have to do better than this, Lobos). Two years ago, UNM blew this Wyoming team off the same field, 56-35. Is Davie hinting at the recent $30 million that the Wyoming legislature and others poured into their program as the difference maker? My guess is ... yes. Is Santa Fe listening? Probably not. — Joseph

LET ME SUGGEST

in the future UNM please do not to schedule a home football and men’s basketball game on the same day. The lack of ability for the football team to score became contagious to the basketball team. With 8:28 left in the first half of the basketball game UNM trailed UTEP by a touchdown (14-7). — jpb

AT THE HAND

of coach Davie, the death of UNM athletics is upon us. For those that have already given up on football, you need to help pack the Pit here on out. Lobo women also deserve better support. The empty football stadium will continue the unfortunate cascading effect of other sports programs down the road. Bob, turn tail and run while you’re still ahead. Please give us an early Christmas present and a prosperous new year and resign, saving the taxpayers and university some money. — Manny G. from the Hub City

LOBO FOOTBALL HAS

gone from bad to worse. Any rational person can conclude the program needs to be ended and the financial resources it drains can be used in much better ways. Start by restoring the programs cut. — Ron C.

I’D RATHER BE

locked in a room listening to Rudy C. self glossing himself about being an attorney and what a great Lobo fan he is rather then endure another season of Bob Davie as a coach. Both would be brutal but I’d rather see Davie gone. — NM native
