Marsha Baker Glover
Marsha Baker Glover, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home on November 20, 2018. She was born in Grayville, IL to
Fred Powell Baker and Stella Cooper Baker on August 2, 1939.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gary Michael Glover; her younger son, Clark Ashley Glover; and her cousin, Lana Ewing. She is survived by her elder son, Stuart Michael Glover (Renee Perea) of Albuquerque; sister, Julia Baker Huff (William J. Huff) of Albuquerque; brother, Fred Powell Baker (Yvonne) of San Antonio, TX; and sisters-in-law, Sue Glover Mottinger (Nancy Adams Wallen) of Dallas, TX and Ann Glover Warner of Santa Fe, NM. She is also survived by nieces, Cathryn E. Huff and Keilie Baker; and nephews, David C. Huff, Kenneth M. Baker, Kevin E. Baker, John Glover, and Roger Glover; and cousin, Linda Kay Holder.
Marsha attended Texas Western College in El Paso, TX. She met her husband and they married there. They moved to Alamogordo, NM where they raised their sons. She continued working in the Glover Gulf Oil Distributing Co. after her husband’s death and returned to college at New Mexico State University, earning a BA degree in Economics and an MA degree in Finance and Accounting. She taught college for a short while in Alamogordo. She eventually settled in Albuquerque where her sons also moved.
Marsha was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at Texas Western College. She was very active in the Tanoan Country Club Niners Golf Association where she made many friends. In spite of her health issues, she always maintained her positive outlook on life. She was never without a smile and nice word. She loved traveling, outdoor sports, gardening and reading.
At her request, Marsha was cremated, and a private service was held at FRENCH – Wyoming. A Celebration of Marsha’s life will take place on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Tanoan Country Club, 10801 Academy Rd NE. Albuquerque, NM 87111.
