The owner of Bocadillos Albuquerque and her daughter will appear on the Food Network tonight.

Marie Yniguez’s latest trip on TV is to Flavortown Market.

The owner of Bocadillos in Albuquerque will appear on an episode of Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games.” Flavortown Market is the grocery store’s name on the show.

The episode airs at 6 p.m. tonight on Food Network. The reality-based cooking game show is hosted by Guy Fieri. Each episode features four chefs competing in a three-round elimination contest, cooking food with ingredients found in Flavortown Market. Contestants have a chance to win up to $30,000.

The episode featuring Yniguez pits chefs from previous episodes of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Bocadillos was featured on the show in 2013.

The opportunity to be on the show was highlighted by the fact that Yniguez was able to compete with her daughter, Ryan Duran.

“They wanted to do a family competition and they thought of us,” Yniguez says. “This was the first time I’ve been able to share the experience with my daughter on national TV. I also had the chance to meet teams from all over the U.S. And of course, I got to see Guy again, which is always special.”

Yniguez says being able to navigate the challenges with her daughter was part of the fun.

“We worked as a team and had 30 minutes to shop,” she says. “As soon as the challenge hits, you have to be aware of the time you have. Of course, these great ideas came through our mind. But we had to collaborate and make sure we finished the challenge.”

The episode was filmed in California in late 2018.

Yniguez says waiting for the episode to air has been nerve wracking.

Meanwhile, being on the show has helped direct Duran’s journey.

“I’ve been around my mom my entire life and grown up around the kitchen,” Duran says. “I’ve always loved baking and like being alone to work on it. I’ve changed my major to culinary, and want to focus on desserts and pastries.”
