RENAY SCOTT
Vice president for student success New Mexico State University Las Cruces
As a leader, who are you inspired by? I am inspired by leaders who have exhibited strength, courage and persistence in advancing causes that make the world, their organizations and their communities better places.
What do you consider to be the top issue or concern facing
New Mexico today? Why? I believe New Mexico needs a workforce that is highly skilled and prepared to be successful in the economy of the future. To that end, I believe the state needs the infrastructure, including high speed broadband, to allow New Mexicans to be innovative, place-based entrepreneurs who can engage in telemedicine, big data and content creation. What has inspired you or been the highlight of your Leadership New Mexico experience so far? The experiential learning that occurred during the ropes course taught me a great deal about support, motivation, collaboration, and facing fears and challenges.
