Flyers blow 4-goal lead, recover in OT

PHILADELPH­IA — Travis Konecny and the Philadelph­ia Flyers were able to exhale after almost coughing up two points.

Konecny scored his second goal of the game 1:27 into overtime as Philadelph­ia bounced back from squanderin­g a big lead to beat the Detroit Red Wings 6-5 on Saturday.

“It feels good to get that one, especially when you have the thought of maybe losing a game that you should have,” he said.

The Flyers led 5-1 with 19 minutes left in the third period. Detroit tied it on Anthony Mantha’s second goal of the game with 7 seconds left in regulation.

“We definitely have to clean some things up,” Konecny said. “Some of that stuff is not acceptable for a team to come back like that. But we’re just glad we came out on top of this.”

The Flyers are 15-0-1 on home ice against the Red Wings since getting swept by them in the 1997 Stanley Cup Final. BLUES 3, AVALANCHE 0: In Denver, Jake Allen made 32 saves, and Vladimir Tarasenko and Zach Sanford scored 57 seconds apart in the third period as St. Louis beat Colorado for its ninth straight victory.

The win streak is St. Louis’ longest since also winning nine in a row from Oct. 15-Nov. 5, 2002.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS 5, PREDATORS 1: In Las Vegas, Nev., Max Pacioretty scored twice and Malcolm Subban made 29 saves in his first start since early January as Vegas beat Nashville.

Vegas snapped a three-game losing streak, and a franchise-record five-game skid at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas.

SHARKS 3, CANUCKS 2: In San Jose, Calif., Joe Pavelski, Logan Couture and Timo Meier each had a goal and an assist as San Jose topped Vancouver.

Pavelski snapped a tie 13:06 into the third period. Meier and Couture

assisted on his team-leading 31st goal.

BRUINS 4, KINGS 2: In Los Angeles, Charlie McAvoy scored with 1:13 remaining as Boston beat Los Angeles for its fifth consecutiv­e victory.

Jake DeBrusk scored for the third consecutiv­e game and Tuukka Rask made 23 saves for the Bruins, 7-0-3 in their past 10 games.

LIGHTNING 3, CANADIENS 0: In Tampa, Fla., Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist in the third as Tampa Bay beat Montreal for its fifth straight win.

Andrei Vasilevski­y made 20 saves in his second consecutiv­e shutout and franchise-record 18th for his career.

HURRICANES 3, STARS 0: In Raleigh, N.C., Petr Mrazek stopped 33 shots in his third shutout of the season and Carolina beat Dallas to move into a wild-card playoff spot.

Justin Williams and Brock McGinn scored less than four minutes apart in the first period, and Micheal Ferland added a powerplay goal in the third.

BLUE JACKETS 5, BLACKHAWKS 2: In Chicago, Artemi Panarin had two goals and an assist against his former team as Columbus beat Chicago for its fifth win in six games.

Pierre-Luc Dubois added a goal and an assist, Cam Atkinson and Josh Anderson also scored.

ISLANDERS 5, OILERS 2: In New York, Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee scored in the third period as New York beat Edmonton in the final game of the regular season at Barclays Center.

Ryan Pulock, Valtteri Filppula, and Brock Nelson also scored.

SENATORS 4, JETS 3 (OT): In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ryan Dzingel scored at 3:44 of overtime to lift Ottawa past Winnipeg.

Anders Nilsson stopped 23 shots to help the Senators.

FLAMES 5, PENGUINS 4: In Pittsburgh, Michael Frolik had the first of four second-period goals for Calgary as the Flames beat the Penguins to end a four-game skid.

Frolik, Austin Czarnik, Travis Hamonic and Sam Bennett scored during a midgame 17-minute span for Calgary.

COYOTES 2, MAPLE LEAFS 0: In Glendale, Ariz., Darcy Kuemper stopped 21 shots as Arizona defeated Toronto.
