HOROSCOPES BY HOLIDAY

-

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (June 30): You’re ready to work, and just as soon as you dive into July’s new project, you start finding better, faster, cheaper ways to get it done. You’ll teach what you discover, and this opens up new horizons for you, too. Emotional closeness, new friends and tighter connections with old ones will be the true wealth of 2020. Aquarius and Libra adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 30, 22, 1 and 7.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): There’s no time to waste in such unproductive practices as placing the blame, ducking responsibility and punishing the guilty. You’re far more interested in figuring out how to work together.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Only the most confident will actually ask how they’re doing. It takes courage to solicit feedback! Even if you don’t ask directly, pay close attention to the effect you’re having on others. Their reactions are your best teachers.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21): You make decisions so quickly others assume you’re going with your gut. It’s far more intricate than that. You have an elaborate (though mostly subconscious) way to process information, and it’s right on the money today.

CANCER (June 22-July 22): The social demands of the day involve a certain effusiveness that’s right in line with what you love to deliver. Even so, after all the excitement, you’ll need time to recharge and be alone.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): The art of negotiating is your forte. You’ll think of uncommon and brilliant ways to make a situation work. Where there’s an agreement to be struck, you’ll do it with style.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Keep a journal and suddenly you’re a journalist! Draw a picture and you’re an artist. Make people laugh and you’re a comedian. You’ll be so many things over the course of this day, and people love the surprise of you.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23): There comes a point in every venture when there’s nothing more you can do or are willing to do to influence the outcome. There’s a strange mix of relief and apprehension that comes in the moment you leave it to the fates.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21): Keep to your course. Stay in good spirits. Treat yourself well. Do what it takes to remain flexible, strong and ready. Success will soon be yours.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Maybe you don’t feel completely understood, but this is a process. People want to connect with you. As you relate to more people, you’ll figure out how to put yourself across so they learn quickly who you are.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): What sets you apart from the competition is the attention and specificity you give to your pursuits. You apply highly selective criteria to the choices you make, and this elevates your work to the level of artistry.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): If there’s one thing to do for yourself to make your life more enjoyable, less stressful and better all around, it’s to get excellent and plentiful sleep. There are actually many steps needed to make this happen, all doable.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Instead of fixing what’s broken, you’ll focus on what works really well, and you’ll maximize the potential there, making that thing so completely awesome that it overshadows all the rest.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: Our brains commandeer a complex reward system we’re often not even aware of, with feel-good chemicals released on the regular for daily occurrences we may not think of as particularly pleasurable but that nonetheless contribute to our overall well-being and mood. It’s not until one of those things we count on goes away that we realize its place in our happiness equation.

For instance, running out of coffee makes us realize how much the ritual of a warm mug in the morning means to us. Or not hearing someone’s voice when we usually do could make us understand how key that person is to our daily emotional needs. This is the sort of noticing that will happen this week of the new moon and total eclipse of the Cancer sun. This event on Tuesday, July 2, brings awareness to soul-nurturing influences we might normally take for granted, and not a moment too soon.

The very next day, Venus moves into Cancer, which is an excellent placement to highlight the domestic side of love, the routines that hold us in good stead and the rituals that contribute to our wellbeing. If life hasn’t exactly been giving you a soft place to land, it’s time to build your own cushion.
