NO SNOW

Craig Snow, who recently dropped the tag as interim athletic director at New Mexico Highlands University to take on the job full time, has resigned to become special assistant to the head coach for the University of New Mexico men’s basketball program, Paul Weir.

Snow, who until this offseason also was the Highlands men’s basketball coach, led the Cowboys to a first-ever Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament championship and a berth in the DII national championship tournament this past season.

Snow is a former assistant coach at UNM, and is expected to be doing coaching and administrative duties with the Lobos.

His wife, Dr. Jessica Snow, was a professor in the Highlands biology department and she will also be leaving.

“Losing both athletic director Craig Snow and professor Jessica Snow are great losses to HU,” NMHU President Sam Minner said. “But I thank both of them so very much for their high efforts at Highlands and their commitment to our mission.” Minner said he’ll name an interim director of athletics before conducting a national search for Snow’s replacement.

“NMHU athletics is on the upswing, and I am confident we will attract a high-quality replacement for both Craig and Jessica,” Minner said.
