THE 7TH ANNUAL Senator Michael Padilla Job Fair will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Harrison Middle School, 3912 Isleta Blvd. SW. The fair will feature over 103 employers with over 4,300 jobs available. All employers are hiring regular full and part-time employees. Please arrive early. The event is open to everyone. First Session from noon - 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the SCORE Main Office on the CNM Montoya Campus, 4700 Morris St. NE, Ste. TW203. The workshop is a valuable first step for small business owners and entreprene­urs. Participan­ts will learn about SCORE and all their small business resources and services. Accounting and marketing concepts and their relationsh­ip are discussed. First Session is an important first step before meeting with the SCORE mentors and/or before attending Next Step for Startups. Procuremen­t Technical Assistance Center; and Monica Jojola, Montect Inc. from 5:30 - 8 p.m. on July 17 at Embassy Suites by Hilton, 1000 Woodward Pl. NE. Government entities and the National Laboratori­es represent a significan­t portion of the buying power in the New Mexico economy. These entities all have mechanisms and systems to encourage contractin­g with small businesses, but the associated red tape scares away many businesses that would be excellent candidates.
