THE NEW MEXICO TAXATION AND REVENUE DEPARTMENT will present its New Business Workshop from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. today in the First Floor Conference Room at the Bank of the West, 5301 Central Ave. NE. The workshop is intended for new business owners and others who want an introducti­on to business tax reporting in New Mexico. Topics include the Combined Reporting System for Gross Receipts, Withholdin­g and Compensati­ng Tax programs; NonTaxable Transactio­n Certificat­es; estimated income tax payments for business owners, deductions and exemptions from Gross Receipts; e-filing and a discussion by a volunteer CPA on federal tax issues and good business practices.
