SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY
Bagheera is a handsome Australian shepherd mix who weighs 90 pounds and is about 10 years young. He is super chill and sweet. Loves to go on leashed walks and enjoys being brushed.
Nathan is a feisty 2-year-old domestic shorthair kitty. He weighs about 9 pounds, which we think is a great size for him. He has been very nice, super cute and, if you listen closely, you will hear him purr.
These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. The Shelter’s Mobile Adoption Team will be out today from noon-3 p.m. at PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Dr., Friday Aug. 16 at Kmart Santa Fe, and Saturday, Aug. 17, again at PetSmart Santa Fe.
The shelter, along with Modelo Especial, is providing a helping hand to veterans who would like a furry friend. The Modelo Especial “Pets for Vets” program provides fee-waived adoptions for veterans, who also receive six no-ost training classes at the shelter. The shelter also offers all veterans 50% off adoptions throughout the year. To participate in the program, show a valid military I.D. or DD214. Visit the shelter or the website for more information.

Velvet. This young pup is as soft as her name suggests. She is a 10-month-old Labrador/hound mix. She weighs 28 pounds, but should grow a little bit more in the months to come. She’s lively and playful, just waiting at the shelter until her forever family finds her.
Notorious C.A.T. is pondering deep thoughts for creating his new cat raps. Every single other kitty was adopted this weekend from our Cat Corral at Sunrise Springs Spa Resort … except for him! He is adorable and lovely, definitely not notorious. He’s about 3 months old and weighs two pounds. He would love to be part of your family.
