PNM Foundation aids 21 area nonprofits

Twenty-one New Mexico nonprofits will be able to spend less on electric bills and more on providing essential services to the community after receiving a PNM Reduce Your Use grant from the PNM Resources Foundation.

The 2019 Reduce Your Use grants awarded more than $100,000 to help nonprofits throughout New Mexico complete projects that reduce their energy use and lower their electric bills. Funded projects include efficient lighting, solar panel installations, updating heating and cooling systems, window coverings, ceiling fans, energy saving appliances, and much more. The completion of these projects will not only save energy and money, but will also mean a cleaner, healthier environment in many cases for their clients and staff.

“PNM is committed to working with our customers to find ways they can save energy,” said Laurie Roach, PNM Resources Foundation director. “Reduce Your Use Grants specifically help nonprofit organizations make their energy saving ideas a reality.”
