albuquerque “A Doll’s House,” written in 1879, A Doll’s House became a foundational work of modern feminism when Nora Helmer slammed the door on her husband and children in order to find herself. The story of a happy bourgeois marriage that comes apart when its truths are revealed, the play is also among the earliest realistic masterpieces of the modern theatre.
