NOW THAT THE NM Bowl doesn’t have a title sponsor for another year, Jeff Siembieda, the exec director should be fired. He loves being the figurehead, but hasn’t done anything to grow the experience. The tailgate activities went away when Gildan pulled out. He then messed up this last sponsorship, and has turned the NM Bowl into just another football game that is no big deal to attend. — Sam
WEIR’S PAY TO PLAY: Mediocre thus far UNM coach Weir ought to be first concerned with winning games — -not being an agent for just high profile Lobo players. It’s all about the entire team-not individual stars coach! Or haven’t you figured that out yet? — RU/ASU Dell
SEEMS LIKE THE whole Lobo football program has been exposing itself indecently, on the field. — RDB
BACK IN WHAT was then called junior high school in 1962, ‘63 and ‘64, I should have had a few more bottles of soda pop in celebration of the UNM football team’s WAC championships. Little did I know that it would be 55 years and counting without another conference championship. I’ll probably not see another UNM football title in my lifetime. However, I’m one of the lucky ones. There’s no optimism for those long suffering Lobo fans who have yet to witness even one championship. So this one’s for you Bill Weeks, Stan Quintana, Bobby Santiago, Jim Ottman, et al. — NM Old Timer
JC MUST HAVE a bone to pick, with whom I’m not sure. His belittling of Alex (Bregman) is uncalled for. “Overrated”? How can anyone say that about a career .286 hitter and MVP of the 2018 All Star game? In only his fourth year in the majors he hit 41 home runs, led the AL with 119 walks and only struck out 83 times while hitting a smooth .296. Explain to me how he is overrated. He’s not from California, maybe that’s it! — Rick
