GLENDALE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson remembers this version of the San Francisco 49ers.

The nine-year veteran broke into the NFL back in 2011 with Arizona and during his early years, the games against division rival San Francisco were always a difficult task. The Niners won 36 regular-season games from 2011-13 and made the Super Bowl in the 2012 season.

“To me, it resembles that same style of football,” Peterson said. “Building that team up front on both sides of the ball, taking their shots when they can and playing great defense. They have their personnel and they’re playing some real good football.”

San Francisco (7-0) travels to face Arizona (3-4-1) on Thursday night and enters the game on quite a roll. The 49ers crushed the Carolina

Panthers 51-13 on Sunday and have been plowing through foes with one of the league’s best defenses.

Arizona is coming off a 31-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. That ended a three-game winning streak for the Cardinals, who knocked off the Bengals, Falcons and Giants in consecutive weeks before the setback in New Orleans.

Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray said that after Sunday’s poor performance, the team is eager to get back on the field, especially at home.

“That should be fun. Wearing all black, Thursday night, real first primetime game for us,” Murray said. “Just really trying to go out there and put on a show and protect home.”

BROWNS: Baker Mayfield’s frustration finally boiled over. The losing is beating him.

Annoyed with a reporter’s line of questioning about a drive at the end of the first half in last week’s loss at New England, the Browns fiery QB abruptly ended his weekly interview session Wednesday and stormed off.

Mayfield, who is tied for the NFL lead with 12 interceptions, grew increasingly agitated when a reporter asked him about a failed two-minute drive in a 27-13 loss to the Patriots. The

Browns were called for a penalty, which Mayfield said prevented them from moving the ball.

“Was I happy with the drive? No, we didn’t score points,” Mayfield chirped. “That’s the dumbest question you could ask. What?”

Mayfield then disgustedly walked away from the lectern and toward his locker.

RAIDERS: Center Rodney Hudson missed practice Wednesday with a sprained ankle that knocked him out of last week’s loss at Houston and appears unlikely to be able to play this week against the Detroit Lions.

JAGUARS: Rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew went to the injury report with right shoulder soreness suffered in Sunday’s victory against the New York Jets. But he was a full participant in practice Wednesday and said he took 100% of his normal repetitions. CHIEFS: Kansas City remain hopeful injured quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be available when they play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes, who dislocated his right kneecap two weeks ago in Denver, practiced on a limited basis last week before he was declared out Friday.
