‘DYSFUNCTIONAL’ BEST

describes Lady Lobo basketball. Aisia Robertson was allowed to “run” the team, on court made bad decisions & off the court, “barked” orders to other team mates. No oversight from Bradbury. Out coached several games. Attended a practice few years ago & air was “blue” with words coming from Bradbury’s mouth plus demeaning, terrible comments made to some players. No desire to attend again. Prospect for unified team effort slim & will see how many players bail this year.

I MOVED TO

Albuquerque in 1970 and attended DNHS. I quickly learned HHS was our most hated (respected) rival. I recently met David Powdrell for the first time at a catered event. … Nice guy and I made sure to give respect and let his young family members know how important he was to his team. Track & Field was a big deal in those days. To this day, possibly my fondest athletic memory was when we crushed the David Powdrell-led eventual state champs HHS in a 1971 dual meet. Glory Days! Play it Bruce Springsteen!

MAYBE BLAKE SNELL

should use his free time to take an English course and also try to increase his vocabulary, bro.

TOTAL ONE YEAR

cost of UNM’s football coaches’ salaries — $2,547,763. Athletic Department claims to have a budget issue. Doesn’t appear that way. Fourteen assistant coaches?

THE OLDEST PROFESSOR

wonders why UNM hired 14 assistant coaches. Because the couldn’t find 15.

WHAT HAS THE

lockdown taught us about sports TV? Hair and makeup people are invaluable! I saw a lady on TV with dreadlocks. It looked like a raccoon was trying to crawl off her head. Another lady on TV looked like a member of the cast of “The Walking Dead.” They could at least hire an out-of-work makeup counter girl from the now closed mall to try not to scare us.

WHEN MICHAEL JORDAN

tried pro baseball, the BBC reported he was assigned by the White Sox “to their nursery team the Nashville Sounds.” Now for the cricket scores.
