SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

-

We are still living amid COVID-19 and while the community is opening up, staying home is still a good thing. Why not settle in with a new pup. Meet Izzy! She is a 4-year-old gal who is looking for a second chance in life. She currently weighs about 55 pounds, and is a very sweet and happy pup. Izzy is friendly, loves to explore her surroundings and is excellent on leash walks.

Lily is a sweet 2-month-old kitten who is excited to settle in with a family of her own! Lily currently weighs 2 pounds and may grow to be 10-12 pounds as an adult. She’s a fun and playful kitten who loves crazy play sessions followed by nice, long cuddly naps.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours during the pandemic are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and are by appointment only. To enquire about any of these pets and others for adoption, call the shelter at 9834309 to schedule an appointment. To see available animals online and updated COVID-19 shelter policies, visit SFHumaneSociety.org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

In other shelter news, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Santa Fe businesses to close, including the Santa Fe Animal Shelter’s resale stores, The Cat North and The Cat South. This week, both stores reopened to customers with a significant change, a brand new location for The Cat North. The all-new “The Cat” will be at 3546 Zafarano Drive, between Target and Albertsons, in the Plaza Santa Fe shopping area. Right now, both locations are accepting donations of gently used items; home pick-up is also available by calling the individual stores. The Cat is a project of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, with 100% of proceeds benefiting homeless animals in New Mexico.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

“If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.” That’s Blanca’s motto. This 2-yearold pocket pibble is 44 pounds of joy, and her ear-to-ear grin will melt away all your troubles and replace them with wiggly-waggly full-body smiles. Blanca loves everyone and everything. Cats? Love. Other dogs? Check. Humans? Any kind. Submit an adoption application on our website to adopt her and you just might find your happiest new best friend who wants to do all the things, all the time.

Mathilda has such giant cheeks, we thought she was a tomcat at first — but she’s all girl! If Mathilda could smile, we’re sure she would have dimples in those perfect apple cheeks of hers. This 9-years-young sweet peanut of a tabbycat is as gorgeous as she is friendly, loving and curious. She deserves a home where she is cherished as much as she will cherish you. Please give her a second chance at a new beginning and consider adopting her.

Although the shelter is closed to the public, it is offering adoptions by appointment only. Please submit an application by visiting our website, and our staff will contact you to schedule. To see more adoptable pets, log on to www. espanolahumane.org or www. petango.com. Fill out an application online or call 505-753-8662.
