SANTA FE — El Rancho de Las Golondrinas and Sunrise Springs Spa Resorts are teaming up to sponsor a cleanup of Los Pinos Road on Tuesday in advance of the reopening on July 1 of the living history museum and the spa.

Los Pinos is the road that leads to both attractions. It can be accessed from the frontage road along Interstate 25 at the N.M. 599 exit, or via Entrada la Cienega at the La Cienega exit off I-25.

Daniel Goodman, director at Las Golondrinas, said the cleanup is a way for the organizations to give back to the community.

“It’s really important to us as part of our mission to protect and preserve Las Golondrinas and the land,” says Museum Director Daniel Goodman, “This seemed like a good way to help take care of our neighborhood, and get our staff and volunteers excited about the prospect of our opening day.”

El Rancho de Las Golondrinas is a 200-acre property south of Santa Fe that is the only living history museum in the Southwest dedicated to the preservation of northern New Mexico’s history and culture.

Sunrise Springs is located on 70 acres, and includes gardens, walking paths, spring-fed waters, heated soaking pools, the Blue Heron Restaurant and guest rooms for overnight lodging. The guest rooms will re-open July 1.

Anyone interested in helping with the cleanup, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, can contact Laura Gonzales at laura@golondrinas.org. Volunteers will practice social distancing, and be provided with masks, gloves and safety vests.
