Heat records set in ABQ, Roswell
The high temperature in Albuquerque broke a daily record Saturday when it reached 103 degrees.
The previous highest temperature for a July 11 was in 1979 when it was 102 degrees, said Troy Marshall, a meteorology technician with the National Weather Service.
The measurement was taken at the Albuquerque International Sunport.
Marshall said several daily records were set throughout the state, including in Roswell where the temperature reached 111 degrees, surpassing the previous high of 110 degrees in 2016.
But here’s a better bright side: Marshall said there is a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms in the Albuquerque area in the afternoons and evenings over the next several days.
