SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Even though there has been a rise in the number of pet adoptions, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter has many pets wanting to find forever homes. So, meet Aurora! She is a 3-year-old mixed-breed dog who came to the animal shelter looking for a second chance in life. She is a little shy at first, but a very, very sweet girl once she gets to know you. Aurora currently weighs about 50 pounds. She loves her daily walks, is great on a leash, and enjoys smelling all the bushes, flowers and tress.

Lincoln is a beautiful Siamese mix who is 14 years young and is truly looking for a second chance in life. He is a loving cat and, according to his previous guardian, he would do best as the only cat in his new home. Lincoln does get along with dogs and people. He spends his days looking out the window and waiting for his next meal. Looking for company? Lincoln may be the purrfect choice!

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours during the pandemic are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily by appointment only. To enquire about any of these pets and others for adoption, call the shelter at 983-4309, ext. 1610 to schedule an appointment. View other adoptable animals and see updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety. org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook,

Twitter and Instagram.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

The smell of chile wafting through the air means fall is coming, days are getting shorter and nights are cooler, so why not cozy up with a new fur buddy? There are plenty of pets waiting for homes at Española Humane. Meet Bubba Wallace, he isn’t a professional NASCAR driver, but he did arrive with a brain injury after being inadvertently tossed around in the back of a moving truck. He has recovered his mojo, but unfortunately tested positive for FeLV. This sweet boy won’t let anything slow him down — not a concussion, not feline leukemia. He’s happy and healthy, and should live a life indoors with another FeLV+ cat or be the only kitty in your home. Give Bubba

Wallace a chance to zip around forever.

Pinky is one of eight heirloom wrinklepiglets sprouted in the shelter’s recently reopened Puppy Patch at Ojo Santa Fe! Just kidding, she’s a sharpei mix — spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to go home with six months of heartworm prevention. Like the shelter, the Puppy Patch is closed to walkin traffic and open for adoptions by appointment only. Applications for puppies from the Patch can be found on the shelter’s website.

Española Humane is located at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. The shelter is closed to the public, but offers adoptions by appointment. Submit an application for these or any of the available pets on the shelter’s websites — www.espanolahumane. org or www.petango.com — or call 505-753-8662.
