Esmael Eutimio “Tim” Candelaria, age

86, passed away Friday, January

8, 2021, he was born March 6, 1934, in Manzano,

New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentin and Manuela Candelaria; and his siblings, Nicholas Candelaria wife Terry, Severa Lovato, Apolonia Romero, Carlota Lovato husband Saturnino, Favolita Candelaria, and Anne Smail. Esmael is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn; and his children, Emily Weber husband, Mike and Eugene Candelaria, and his two grandchild­ren, Timothy and Jessica Weber. Esmael graduated from Mountainai­r High School in 1952.

He received the Ford academic scholarshi­p to attend UNM before joining the Navy. He served as a pilot for the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for the FAA for 30 years in Albuquerqu­e, NM and for the Internatio­nal Civil Aviation Organizati­on (ICAO) in Caracas, Venezuela. After retirement from the FAA, he taught at the Air Traffic Controller School in Oklahoma City, then again for ICAO in Bogotá, Columbia. He enjoyed traveling, deep sea fishing and going to Indy car races.

A Rosary will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrecti­on to follow at 11:00 a.m., Church of the Incarnatio­n Catholic Church located at 2309 Monterrey Road NE in Rio Rancho, NM. Pallbearer­s are Eugene Candelaria, Mike and Timothy Weber, Joe D’Angelo and David Smail. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
