Marie Eva Howell was taken from us from the devastating effects of covid-19 on December 8th, 2020. She was devout, hopeful, caring and was the ultimate in graciousness and class. Her ability to create beauty, design uniqueness and appreciate distinctiveness brought joy and peace to so many of us around her– and it lives on today. Her beloved family and friends have been left with such a deep sense of loss in their hearts and souls that words cannot convey. She will be missed so much more than anyone will ever know.

You were Papa’s wife, you were our mother, our sister, our neighbor, our friend, and you were lovingly ‘Nana’ to all of your grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and anyone who accidentally, or ‘delightfully on purpose’, ended up in our family circle.

You were the one we could call and talk to about anything. It was you and D ad/Papa that allowed us to create wonderful memories and create our own families and our own great memories. We want to thank you and we will never forget you. We love you and miss you.

Marie is proceeded in death by her parents Vernice and Erma Harris, brothers Vernice Jr and Leon Harris, husband Harold Edward Howell, Sr., retired SMSGT, USAF and her daughter Celeste Jewel Howell.

She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Turner, Loretta Surls, Emma Harris, Sharon Harris and Sharleen Watson; her children Cheryl Williams, Harold Edward Howell, Jr and Vernon McClain Howell; her grandchildren Jason, Kia, Latecia, Angel, Harold III, Tiffany, Lisa, Decia and Shelby and many, great grandchildren and, many cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as her many friends, neighbors and church community.

In lieu of flowers, condolence donations may be made to a favorite charity. Marie will be laid to rest with her husband Harold, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date due to current public safety concerns.
