Trump loyalist Herrell is on wrong side of history

-

SINCE the swearing-in of the 117th Congress, the country has faced a number of events. An act of insurrection, an impeachment and continued objections to a fair election . ...

In just three weeks, Rep. Yvette Herrell has proved to be a Trump loyalist who is a danger to America. Rather than distance herself from (Trump), she continues to get closer. She has aligned herself with (former) President Trump and his allies, who continue to spew conspiracy theories and incite violence.

On Jan. 6, Trump’s MAGA-army attacked the Capitol. The mob broke in with the intent of thwarting the democratic process. The attack was motivated by Trump and fueled by Yvette Herrell, along with some who have endorsed her, such as Ted Cruz, Mark Meadows and Andy Biggs. All of which have spread election fraud conspiracy theories, except Herrell had been doing it before it became cool.

She used the good ole’ “Democrats pulled the votes out of nowhere” trick when she was sore about losing to Xochitl Torres Small. In the 2018 election, she stated, “On Election Day, we won, but the Democrats took it away.” It looked like she began to fall into her old habits after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. But things were different for her now. She would be able to object to the results in Congress. And she did just that.

After a deadly mob threatened her and her fellow representatives, she decided to condemn the attack on Capitol Police. But she did not necessarily condemn the attack on the Capitol itself.

After that, she aligned herself with those who broke into the Capitol by objecting to the 2020 election results. With no hesitation, she stated on the House floor that she supported the objection of the election results from Pennsylvania.

Aside from her 15-second statement of disapproval, Herrell appears to have nothing more to say. While she falsely claims in a tweet that she “immediately stood up to denounce it,” .. we do know ... she is “proud to stand by President Trump,” according to the same thread of tweets that explained her reasons for not impeaching the president.

Herrell voted to overturn Pennsylvania’s election results. She then voted against impeaching a president who incited a mob that attacked our democracy. Now, she continues to stand by that same president. It is clear where Herrell stands. And from the looks of it, she is standing on the wrong side of history.
