THE NEW MEXICO TAXATION & REVENUE DEPARTMENT presents the New Employers Workshop from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday online via Zoom. The workshop provides new employers with training in computing and reporting withholdin­g taxes for New Mexico employees, and using the Taxpayer Access Point to file and pay. A representa­tive from the New Mexico Workers’ Compensati­on Administra­tion also will be on hand. Following the workshop, the IRS will conduct a New Businesses Workshop beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The IRS event will provide tax informatio­n to people starting a new business, particular­ly those who have spent their working careers as W-2 employees. All workshops are presented in a virtual format using the Zoom online meeting platform. Participan­ts can ask questions using the chat function in the Zoom applicatio­n.
