Speak Up Rules

If you want to gripe, grouse, whine or bellyache about a generic topic, submit your message at abqjournal. com/letters/speakup. The same goes if you want to dish out praise or thanks. Either way, you have to do it in 50 words or less. You can’t identify anyone you criticize. Keep it clean. No cursing, please. We don’t need your name, just initials. And it’s cheaper than therapy.

GOV. MICHELLE Lujan Grisham is completely wrong to call a special session costing (tens of thousands) per day just to legalize pot. New Mexico already has a bad reputation because of our many problems like drunken drivers, high taxes, high crime rate and poor educational system. Are we now going to be known as the only state in the union to have a special pot session in 2021? Just when I thought things could not get any worse. VC

... I WATCHED the video about the big “dust up” in the N.M. Senate. Sen. Mimi Stewart can’t answer simple questions about an amendment she wants for her bill, gets cornered in (that) there supposedly being no real reason to exempt public employees from this bill, then refuses to talk and answer, and Sen. Daniel Ivey-Soto gets the bad press for continuing to press for an answer? His points were more than valid, and she had no answers . ... MP

GOV. MLG should accept the results of the latest legislative process and stop trying to bully the Legislature into another, expensive, extended session just to get her way. Maybe she should just have a tantrum. It would be cheaper for the taxpayers. JFS
