Albuquerque-based Hospice de la Luz has been acquired by the Texasbased medical company Jet Health Inc. Hospice de la Luz, 3812 Academy Parkway North NE, was founded in Albuquerque in 2005, according to the company website. In a prepared statement, majority owner Robert Metz said the company chose to join Jet Health because of its reputation for excellent clinical care and service under the Klarus brand.

“We wanted to join forces with a home health provider to expand our services and have an opportunity to grow,” Metz said.

Jet Health, which currently operates in four Western states including New Mexico, specializes in nursing care, medical social services, hospice and personal care services and physical, speech and occupational therapy, according to a news release from the company.

Hospice de la Luz is Jet Health’s third hospice-related acquisition, and it furthers the company’s strategy of adding hospice care in the markets it operates in, according to the release.

“By offering our home health patients a choice to remain in our care as they transition to hospice, we believe we can improve their continuity of care, comfort and overall satisfaction,” said Jet Health CEO Stacie Bratcher. “We are excited by the opportunity to better service our patients and referral sources throughout the Albuquerque marketplace.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Funding for the transaction was provided by SV Health Investors and Health Enterprise Partners, according to the release.
