Jerry Amen, 85, beloved husband and father passed away on Thursday, April 15,

2021 after a long illness.

Jerry was born on March 10, 1936 in Fruitdale, South Dakota the youngest of eight children. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Amen of 33 years. His daughters Anita Louise DeNio of Goodyear, Arizona, Andrea Michelle Fitzsimmon­s of Roswell, New Mexico, son Andrew Michael Amen. Four grandchild­ren, Heather DeNio, Krysten Mattox, Hope Fitzsimmon­s, great granddaugh­ter, Olive Mattox, step-children Alan Gilliland, Mark Gilliland, Kim Brissette and his one surviving brother Harold "Brutch" Amen of Emmitt, Idaho.

Jerry joined the Marines at the age of 17. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California where he attended boot camp. He told many stories of how proud he was to be a Marine, such as being a guard at the entry gate and how his bunk mate was singer George Jones. He was in the Marines for 4 years and was a proud Korean war veteran. Once back home Jerry attended Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. He received his degree in accounting. He worked for Texaco Oil Company as an accountant for many years. He then went to work for the IRS in Roswell, New Mexico. He eventually decided he did not want to work in an office anymore and opened his own business. A&A recycling which he did until his retirement. Once retired he enjoyed golfing and meeting his friends at the donut shop where they shared many stories and what they thought were funny jokes!

He will be sadly missed by all including his faithful dog, Tink. A private family gathering and celebratio­n of his life will be held at a later date.
