Holloman airmen coerced to get ‘emergency’ vaccine
Article One of the Nuremburg Code states: the person involved in an experimental treatment should have legal capacity to give consent; should be situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, over-reaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision. This principle is not being honored at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo.
Airmen and civilians employed as government contractors are being coerced to take the COVID vaccines that are all under an “emergency use authorization” status. Airmen and contractors who chose not to take the vaccine or are merely taking a “waitand-see approach” are saddled with onerous rules that fall under a title of “restriction of movement.” After taking leave or traveling for work, unlike their vaccinated colleagues, they must quarantine upon return. They are not allowed to use the gym or the commissary during that time. The isolation is by design and puts in place a system of public shaming — this amongst a cohort sadly susceptible to suicide. All travel quarantine restrictions have been lifted from New Mexico by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham; why are the rights of our airmen being so disrespected? If a private citizen from Santa Fe can leave the state and return and use the grocery store and gym in their home town, why can’t our airmen? The restriction of movement of Air Force personnel in this way is a gross abuse of their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
Many are frustrated and angry but fear reprisals if they speak up. The wing commander has been asked directly and respectfully if this is punitive, and he simply turned and walked away without answering. This two-tiered system is not reflected on the Holloman AFB official website COVID guidance probably because of legality issues, but it is blatantly obvious to the airmen. When it comes to the COVID vaccine, the libertarian approach is one that balances public safety with human rights; people should be able to take it or not take it without coercion or fear of reprisal.
... Again if folks freely choose to vaccinate, good for them, but coercing people to take treatments designated as “emergency use” is wrong. It is the cruelest of ironies that the men and women who at times risk life and limb to preserve and protect our freedoms have theirs so callously disregarded.
