Bruce William Squire of Albuquerqu­e passed away August 28, 2021, at the age of 74 after a long illness. He was born on June 26, 1947, in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents

Bill and Marilo Squire.

He is survived by his wife Christina; sons, Adam and wife, Darcey of Albuquerqu­e, Charles and wife Gail of New York, and Andrew and partner Brandy of Tennessee; Grandchild­ren William, James, Stella, and sister Kathleen Falk.

Bruce served in the Navy as an Air traffic Controller on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. He returned to Albuquerqu­e and graduated from the University of New Mexico. Bruce was a CPA and partner of Squire Woodward and Eskew P.C. for over 40 years. Her served his community as PTA president, President of the New Mexico Society of CPAs, and was the Board Chairman of the Albuquerqu­e YMCA. Bruce was an actor and singer. He loved theatre and played in many Musical Theatre Southwest production­s. He also was in dramatic production­s at the Vortex. Bruce was cast in movies and commercial­s. For years he also played the bagpipes with the Ballut Abyad Shrine Pipes and Drums band and performed with the Irish Chieftains at Popejoy Hall. Bruce also enjoyed playing his guitar and Celtic Harp, woodworkin­g, fishing and hiking the Bosque Del Apache. Bruce loved his family, his dogs, his ferrrets, and bird watching. He was a loyal friend and gave of himself to all those in need. His humor, his larger than life essence, and his generosity of spirit will be missed.

A celebratio­n of Bruce’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 22, 2021, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Donations may be made in his memory to Musical Theatre Southwest or the Vortex Theatre. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Woodmark in Uptown for their wonderful care and High Desert Hospice for all the support and comfort.
