SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Zy is a lovely year-old Doberman Pinscher mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She came to SFAS when her guardian could no longer care for her. At the shelter, Zy has been a sweet and friendly pup. She also really enjoys going out to playgroup and having fun with the other dogs. Zy loves her daily walks and would make a great companion for anyone looking to add a pup to their family. You can adopt Zy, or any dog 6 months and older for just $31 during the shelter’s Wag-O-Ween promotion going on now until Oct. 31. Some exclusions apply.

Khan is a spicy 8-pound, 3-year-old domestic shorthaired female kitty who is looking for her second chance in life. She is an independent cat who enjoys relaxing and being fed. Yes, she lets us dress her up in a cowboy hat, but she insists on getting head scratches afterward. Come on in and meet Khan today.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, with the last adoption at 5:30 p.m. Face coverings are required to visit the shelter. Call 983-4309 ext. 1610 or email Adoption@ SFHumaneSociety.org for information. View available animals and updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety. org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

WAG-O-WEEN CONTINUES AT THE SHELTER The Santa Fe Animal Shelter continues its Halloween adoption promotion to find homes for as many dogs as possible by offering $31 adoptions. The WagO-Ween special allows people to adopt any dog aged 6 months or older for just $31, which includes spay/neuter, microchip and age-appropriate vaccinations. Wag-OWeen excludes shelter heroes and runs through Oct. 31.

The October adoption special is another push by the shelter to find homes for all the homeless animals in its care. If people can’t adopt right now, they can still make an impact by becoming a foster family to care for large dogs in their home. The shelter provides everything a foster family may need, including food and medical care. For information on

fostering or adopting, visit SFHumaneSociety.org.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Red is a toasted marshmallow s’more of sweetness. This 4-yearold, 69-pound yellow lab mix makes friends with every dog we have in group kennels, interacts with each person whose attention he can get, and will make any family the luckiest in the world. Apply on the website or c’mon over to scoop him up.

Morgan is a delightful, darling, 3-year-old, 8-pound tabby gal who just wants a lap to make tortillas! She’s been overlooked for too long in favor of little kittens — so, why not make this sweetpea’s dreams come true.

Española Humane is located at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. The shelter is open to the public for adoptions from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

It is closed from noon to 1 p.m. every day and all day Thursdays to better serve the homeless pets. Face coverings and proper social distancing are required inside the kennels and shelter. Apply to adopt any of these pets or schedule an appointment at www.espanolahumane. org or call 505-753-8662. To see other available pets looking for their forever homes, visit the shelter’s social media pages or website.

HALLOWEEN ADOPTION SPECIAL

The walk-in event clinic will be held Friday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the shelter’s clinic, 108 Hamm Parkway, Española. No appointment is necessary. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats in a carrier. For more information, visit espanolahumane.org.
