Ben Carrillo, age 98, passed away on October 19, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Beatrice; daughter, Mary Ann and Son, Officer John Carrillo. He was born in LaVentana, NM while his family was on a cattle drive. He served 3 and 1/2 years in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged and returned to NM where he met his wife and raised his family. He retired from the Postal Service after 32 years as a Letter Carrier. He spent his retirement as a lawn care specialist for family and friends. Ben was a lifelong Cubs fan and a lifetime avid bowler. He was especially proud to have bowled in numerous Police Olympic Games in place of and in honor of his son John. He is survived by his sons, Ben (Bobbi), Michael (Elaine), Mark (Ramona), George (Jeanette) and daughter, Cathy Beck (Todd), in addition to thirteen grandchild­ren, sixteen greatgrand­children and four greatgreat­grandchild­ren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rosary to be recited at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 11:00 am. Committal Services with Military honors will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1400 Edith Blvd. NE. Pallbearer­s will be Steve Guerra, Rocky Stone, Jeff Baillio, Jeff Carrillo, Kale Beck and Marion Carrillo. Arrangemen­ts by: Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Road SW.
