- FRENCH - Wyoming 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 505.823.9400 www.frenchfunerals.com

Sally Jackson Evans passed away peacefully on October 14, 2021. She was born on November 11, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, to Fred and Harriet Jackson. When Sally was five years old, she moved with her family to Tesuque, NM. She grew up on Rancho del Monte, a vacation ranch, where she led trail rides and assisted guests. She was as at home on a horse as most kids are on a bicycle.

While at UNM, Sally married Robert (Bob) A. Evans. They were married 62 years and together raised four children.

Graduating from UNM with a degree in elementary education, Sally taught third and fourth grades for many years at Bellehaven and Barcelona Elementary Schools. She was a much beloved teacher.

Sally was an outstanding cook and spent countless hours in her kitchen. She loved snow skiing and skied well into her 70s. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, Mexico and Canada. Sally had a green thumb and spent many hours in her gardens tending her beautiful roses and other flowers. She excelled at salmon fishing and caught two 60+ lb king salmon on the same day! She loved her many dogs and enjoyed walking them in Bear Canyon. She will be so happy to be reunited with her precious dog, Max. Most of all, Sally loved her family. She was our best friend and most devoted supporter in all we did. She was truly an angel here on earth.

Sally is survived by her children: Pam Croné (David), Peggy Moore (Ray), and Peter Evans. She is also survived by one grandchild, Kelly Headd (Brian), and one great-grandchild, Gus.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her daughter Patty Gardner Evans.

Her children would like to thank caregivers Anna, Marietta, Edna, Linda, Yssa, Nicole and Charline for their loving care of Sally. Gratitude is also given to Tara and Roadrunner Hospice for keeping Sally safe and comfortable.

A memorial will be held at FRENCH- Wyoming at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. Interment will be scheduled for a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Sally’s name be made to Animal Humane of New Mexico, or the Salvation Army.

While we will miss her daily physical presence in our lives, we are forever grateful for a lifetime of love, laughter, wisdom and memories. God bless you, Mom. We love you. Please visit our online guestbook for Sally at
