THE NATIONAL ACTIVE AND RETIRED FEDERAL EMPLOYEES Chapter 80, will have an “Open Season” Federal Employees Health Benefits Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Palo Duro Senior Center, 5221 Palo Duro Ave NE. All current or retired federal employees are invited to attend this free event.
THE CITY OF RIO RANCHO invites the public to join in a drive-through event for “America Recycles Day” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rio Rancho City Hall at 3200 Civic Center Circle NE. At this free event, participants will learn about how to reduce household waste, make reusable swaps for common single-use items, Rio Rancho’s recycling options, the impact of contaminated recycling from our homes, using the Waste Management At Your Door® program, how to reduce residential water waste and more from the City’s Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful and Environmental Programs divisions and Waste Management of New Mexico. The first 300 participants will receive a free “Sustainability Starter Kit” of reusable items, including a shopping bag, drink bottle and straw kit.
SCORE ALBUQUERQUE will host its workshop titled “First Session” from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday via Zoom. This workshop will discuss such key concepts as accounting, marketing, and their relationship, and go over SCORE resources and services. The workshop is free. NEW MEXICO SOCIETY OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS will host its 27th annual Pride in the Profession awards luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Sandia Resort & Casino. Alfonzo Alexander, MBA, CPC, chief ethics and diversity officer of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, and president of NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust, will be this year’s keynote speaker. During the program, NMSCPA will recognize and honor Outstanding Members Award winners, Women to Watch Award winners, 25-year members and scholarship recipients. The cost is $49.
