Alberto Peralta of Albuquerque,

New Mexico passed away on the morning of October 30, 2021, surrounded by his family. Alberto was born in Yuma, Arizona and spent his childhood in Southern Arizona and Northern Sonora.

In the 1970’s, Alberto moved to Phoenix to attend ASU, where he majored in political science. While in Phoenix, Alberto started a position in banking that led to a forty-year career with institutions ranging from giants like Wells Fargo, Ironstone Bank and Morgan Stanley to community-based credit unions and regional banks. Alberto’s career led him to Mahwah, New Jersey and Atlanta, Georgia, but it was in his long-time home of New Mexico where he had the biggest impact on his community -- helping local businesses invest and grow. Alberto was particularly passionate about working with American Indian groups and the loans he made to minority borrowers.

Alberto loved his family and his beloved dog, Luna. He was an avid bibliophile who would read and catalogue roughly 40 books a year as well as a religious reader of the daily paper, regularly reading both national and local papers. He particularly enjoyed coverage of political events, which he would discuss at length with anyone who would listen. He was just as passionate about developing his physical fitness as his mental acumen, maintaining a decades-long running habit. Throughout his life, Alberto ardently supported the Raiders, no matter which city they represented or how well they played. Later in life, he discovered birdwatching and particularly enjoyed observing the scrub jays, hawks and hummingbirds in his backyard.

Alberto is survived by his wife, Katherine Myers; his children, Melissa Peralta of Chicago, Miranda Peralta of Albuquerque and Miguel Peralta of New York City. His three children were a consistent source of pride, and he would brag about them at any opportunity. He is also survived by his sister, Alma Potter of Vienna and his brother, Tony Peralta of Tucson; as well as his nephews, Frankie and Luis both of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his much-adored mother, Guadalupe Buelna Peralta and his father, Gilbert Peralta. Please visit our online guestbook for Alberto at: www.FrenchFunerals.com.
