-

Florence Ann (Skip) Polyard, age 87, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away November 11, 2021 with her loving daughter by her side. She was born to the late Arthur and Isabel Chadwick on March 2, 1934 at Wabasha, Minnesota. Shortly after graduating from Wabasha High School, she married Lester Polyard on August 18, 1956. With Lester being in the Army, they traveled a lot and moved to many interesting places. After being stationed six years in Albuquerque, they decided to retire here. Florence had a ceramic business and did volunteering, mostly for her grandchildren at the school. She worked a short time for New Mexico Marketing Services, doing test product placements in homes. Florence loved to bowl and meet with other bowler friends once or twice a week. Nothing was more important to her than her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family meant everything to her and she wanted to instill that loving feeling into all its members. Hugs were very important when coming or going. She was a great friend to all her neighbors and friends whenever they were in need of help. Florence and her husband, Lester, did a lot of traveling and took many cruises, often times taking a grandchild along. Family gatherings and get togethers were "very important." Florence is survived by son, Scott (Kim) of Clintonville, Wisconsin; son, Brian of Albuquerque; son, Irvin (Ellen) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son, Dennis of Socorro; son, Jeff (Melanie) of Albuquerque; and daughter, Leslie (James) Mulhall of Rio Rancho. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce (Fred) Heaser of Plainview, MN and Rosalie (Tony) Roozen of Bremerton, WA. She has nine grandchildren, Dana, Marian, Jillian, Cody, Chelsey, Heather, Ryan, Eric and Matt; five great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Javian, Maximus, Georgina, Carlin, plus a sixth coming in January, Dixie Lynn. And never to be forgotten, her faithful dog. Florence was proceeded in death by her husband, Lester; her parents; brothers, Arthur, Irvin and baby Thomas, Terry; and sisters, Betty Mattes and Gladys Krusmark. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas with a reception following the service. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
