Mary Catherine Kuhn Raynovich

Mary Catherine Kuhn Raynovich, a resident of Edgewood, New Mexico, died on April 27th, Mary was the daughter of Dorothy and Fred Kuhn of Bellevue, Pennsylvan­ia. She was survived by her husband, Bill, her brother, David Kuhn and his wife, Pam, her niece, Sarah Kuhn, her stepsons William Jason Raynovich and David Raynovich and his wife, Jackie, and adopted sons Jason Allen and James Nicholas Raynovich. She was a loving grandmothe­r to Devin Raynovich, son of Jackie and David, who died tragically, from a rare and complicate­d cancer in 2018.

Mary graduated from Bellevue High School, Bellevue, PA, in 1970, and is remembered fondly by her classmates and fellow members of their marching band. Mary earned her BA degree from the University of New Mexico Albuquerqu­e in 1999 and her MA degree in Counseling from Webster University-Albuquerqu­e, in 2002. Mary devoted her life and career in service to help others in need and in crises. She began her career in Pittsburgh, with Northern Southwest MHMR, Inc., working with adults with intellectu­al disabiliti­es. After decades of work in social services, Mary accepted the position of Director of Wellspring, a social services agency of the Salvation Army in Omaha, Nebraska, where she dedicated her career to helping women and men in crisis, including those who were incarcerat­ed, drugaddict­ed, sexually abused and trafficked for sexual exploitati­on.

Mary lived an active and vibrant life and she was devoted to her fur babies, including her two sweet cats, Bix and Louie, and four past generation­s of many English Springer Spaniels and two cats. She loved hiking and reading and traveling and always volunteere­d her time and services to helping others, including having served as a paramedic in Western Pennsylvan­ia.
