With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Minister/ Father/Husband Lloyd Wayne Dunn of Los Alamos, New Mexico who passed away on May 10, 2022, at the age of 84. Lloyd was born

June 13, 1937, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Fred Ray Dunn and Mary Elizabeth Dunn. He grew up as a football star in Dewey, Oklahoma and was the local paperboy for both the morning news and the evening gazette. After high school Lloyd chose to follow his passion for the gospel. He often said that “I thought four years, one book, this should be easy. But I learned you can study that book for a lifetime and still learn from it every day.” He graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts. He was ordained at First Christian Church Dewey, Oklahoma 1961, by Eugene Earl Butts. He then graduated from Ozark Bible College with a Bachelor of Theology in 1963. He served as senior minister in: Los Alamos, New Mexico; Quincy, Illinois; Cleveland, Oklahoma; Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico; Dallas, Texas; and Wichita, Kansas. He was a minister for 40+ years sharing his love of Christ with family, church members, neighbors, and anyone he ran into, even at the grocery store. He also had a passion for building custom homes and church buildings. He built/ designed 15+ homes for not only himself, but for his children and for several other families. He always put his all into the building of the homes, making sure they would be everyone’s dream home. He kept his focus on his main love, his Heavenly Father, naming his business Well-Dunn Constructi­on after Matthew 25:23.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Ray Dunn and Mary Elizabeth Dunn, his first wife Dorothy Sue Dunn, his daughter Coleen Sue Dunn and his brothers Lenvil Dunn, Leonard Dunn, Lewis Dunn, and sister Wilma Lee. He left an amazing legacy being survived by his wife Kay Dunn, his children Dwayne Dunn (Cindy) of Lawrence, KS; Jeff Dunn (Sharon) of Albuquerqu­e, NM; Brent Dunn (Tammy) of Angel Fire, NM; and Kaylene Griffin (Dan) of Sherman, TX, 13 grandchild­ren and six greatgrand­children.

Lloyd will be honored with a memorial celebratio­n in Albuquerqu­e, NM at First Christian Church on June 15 at 10 AM.
