Patricia Marie Salopek Kinney was born September 14, 1954, and called to Heaven

May 18, 2022. Patty was a strong woman who was greatly respected in the community as well as in her personal life. She grew up on a pecan farm in Las Cruces as one of 7 children. She had a larger-than-life personality. She was energetic, boisterous, fun loving and had a spine made of steel. The word strong doesn’t even begin to describe her. She was a nurse in the Santa Fe Prison Riots, would give you her opinion without flinching and was not shy to pay a well-deserved compliment to those around her. She lived her life with purpose, raised 2 strong, kind, well-rounded sons and successfully ran Integrated Technology Corporation (ITC), which is a well-respected telecommunications contracting company in a male-dominated field. Patty never squandered a moment; she was busy from sunup until sundown. Patty was forever the host and loved gathering family and friends to cook elaborate tasty meals for. She was the heart of her family, the one who kept everything running and the one who people gathered around happily. Patty was intelligent, loving, strong willed and deeply devoted to her nuclear family. She was a woman and mother who led by example and put 110% into everything she did. When she was needed, she would drop everything else to be there. She didn’t shy away from adversity and the words ‘meek’ or ‘mild’ would never leave anyone’s mouth if asked to provide a description of her. Patty was not merely a spectator on this earth, she truly lived life to its fullest. She was a woman who, in her 60s, would tear across Elephant Butte Lake on her jet ski going as fast as it would take her. She was a woman who would take the time and make the effort to really connect with others and would gather them to be part of her tribe.

She is survived by her two sons, Kyle Kinney & Kory Kinney, and daughter-in-law Kiva, as well as her grandchildren Addison, Taylor, Thomas, and Jackson Kinney. Patty was so loved, will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts and our minds.
