Eva Marie

Padilla, 97, born in Albuquerqu­e,

New Mexico, to Sebastian and Albina Perea on August 28, 1924, passed away on

May 30, 2022. Eva is survived by her daughters, Torie Weber and husband, Fred, Celeste Padilla and husband, Dan, Marian Burkhart and husband, Don; and numerous grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children.

Eva was preceded in death by Frank Padilla, her husband of 53 years, her parents; siblings, Celestino Perea, and Toby Perea; her son, Louis Teller; and her granddaugh­ter, Hannah Burkhart.

Eva and Frank met in Albuquerqu­e while Frank served in the U.S. Air Force and she was a beautician. They were married in 1962, spent three years in Hawaii, two years in California while he was in the service, then retired and raised a family in Albuquerqu­e.

Eva was a woman of faith, and moved to tears by Mariachi music. When she retired, Frank built his wife a beauty shop in their garage where she continued to do hair for friends and family until she couldn’t. She always left her clients, friends, and family feeling beautiful and happy. She loved her Lord and her family most of all.

A Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 1st, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave NW, with a reception to follow at Zapata 2723 Isleta Blvd SW.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception on Saturday, July 2, 2022. A Committal Service with full military honors, in a special ceremony, is scheduled at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, on July 11, 2022, at 2 p.m.
