Sandra Harris (formally known as Heinrichs) passed away peacefully at home in the care of her daughters and three of her grandkids. Sandra was a much loved and devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, aunt, and friend. Born in El Paso, Texas to Allan Heinrichs and Verdine Cleghon she has one younger sister, Donna. Sandra was married to the love of her life Ben Harris for 61 years before he passed away on November 04, 2019.

Sandra graduated from Highland High School. Sandra and Ben raised three daughters, Ruth, Shari, and Vicki as well as multiple toy poodles. She has nine grandchild­ren, twelve great-grandchild­ren and one who preceded her in death, and many nieces and nephews. The family often traveled to Navajo lake and enjoyed camping and skiing.

Sandra and Ben spent their 50th and 60th wedding anniversar­ies in Hawaii. She loved traveling and they were able to take many trips overseas.

Sandra retired from Sandia National Laboratori­es after 32 years of service. Before joining Sandia, she worked at Lytle Engineerin­g and her first job was at the Lobo Theater. When Ben was transferre­d to Ohio, she worked at Mound Laboratory and later at McDonnell Douglas when in Alabama; and rejoined Sandia when they came back to Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico. After she retired from Sandia, she worked at the voting sites and delighted in seeing many familiar faces.

Sandra was a long-time, faithful member of Sombra Del Monte Christian Church. She and Ben were members of the Rio Grande Mustang and Pajarito Thunderbir­d automobile clubs. Sandra will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A private family memorial will be held soon.
