Albina R. Quintana, age 90, a resident of Albuquerqu­e and Peralta, NM, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Colonias, NM and spent her early years in the mountains and llanos of northern New Mexico. Albina attended Highlands University before marrying Joe Quintana in 1951. Together they moved to Albuquerqu­e in 1952 and raised their family in the North Valley. She spent her final years in Peralta with her daughter, Finnie and family. Albina will be remembered for her enduring faith, strength of will, biting wit, hard-won wisdom, and voracious appetite for reading and sweets. She had an abundance of love to share with everyone in her life. Albina was immensely proud of her family, a fast friend with everyone she met, and the most calm and kind spirit. Her legacy will live on in the many branches of her family tree.

Albina is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Quintana; son, Joey Quintana; and sister, Sr. Rosa Ruiz. She is survived by her children, Josephine (Charlie) Maez, Anthony (Debbie), Gilbert (Dena), Richard (Shannon), Cynthia, Stephen Quintana, and Vera Quintana Dallas; daughter-inlaw, Pam; four siblings, Arscenio (Sally), Ruben (Stella), Benny Ruiz (Margaret), and Carmen Baca; grandchild­ren, Angelica, Melanie, Heather, Hilary, Kyle, Keith, Justin, Jocelyn, Amanda, Salina, Kevin, Alyssa, Felicia, Derrick, Jacob, Jordyn; and greatgrand­children, Isaiah, Elijah, Kaden, Mia, Alayna, Zoey, Jaxon, CJ, Nolan, Sloane, Brodie, Maximus, Samuel, Margaux, and Beatrice; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Peralta, NM. A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment to begin at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerqu­e. Pallbearer­s will be Kyle and Keith Dallas, Kevin, Justin, Derrick, and Jacob Quintana. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Isaiah and Elijah Quintana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, New Mexico Chapter.
