Free contraception, but ban abortion

-

DON’T HAVE a gun? You have no opinion on school massacres.

Don’t have a car? You have no opinion on nighttime road racing.

Don’t have a womb? You have no opinion on abortion.

I’m an engineer. I do logic. And all three of the above are horrid examples of illogic.

The Supreme Court simply said one of its earlier decisions was faulty and should be vacated. If you think that’s wrong, would you have the court retain its 1857 decision against Dred Scott, saying he could never be a free citizen because he had once been a slave?

The court’s recent decision is not a war against women, abortion is — half the aborted babies are female.

It’s not a war against Black women, abortion is — per their relative population in the USA, more Black babies are aborted than any other race.

It’s not health care; pregnancy is not a disease. If you believe it’s your body and thus your choice, the baby in your womb has zero choice.

Gun owners wear hearing protection, eye guards and obey strict safety rules on the range. Car racers wear helmets, fire suits and a restraining harness when racing. So why, oh why, won’t you practice any safety measures when you enjoy a romp? Why would you ever engage in random sex without a condom in sight or a pill in your system?

There are quite a number of contraception products available, and we should be advocating for their widespread use, and that they be available to anyone of childbearing age easily, and for free. That’s how the recent COVID vaccines were given, on request and without cost to the recipient. I would march with you to support free contraception for all.

But I can never march for postconception contrabirth.
